Enugu2023: Frank Nweke Jr Reassures Igwe Of Ugwuleshi Of His Commitment To Enugu

Frank Nweke Jr, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Enugu State, on Saturday paid a courtesy visit to Igwe Godwin Okosisi Nwobu (Ugwundu II) the traditional ruler of Ugwuleshi, Awgu Autonomous Community.

Thanking the king for the warm reception, Nweke shared his reasons for running to become the next governor of Enugu State, citing his track record of excellence and integrity as the qualifications needed to ensure progress and prosperity for all in Enugu State.

He emphasised that APGA’s philosophy of Onye Aghana Nwanne Ya was beyond a slogan but is deeply rooted in the culture of Igbos to ensure shared prosperity for all.

Nweke noted that his administration’s goal, under APGA was to ensure that the lives of the people were improved across the rural and urban areas, addressing the lack of basic infrastructure like roads, water, extension services for smallholder farmers and the insecurity that has hampered the normal way of life for many across the State. He also stated his commitment to the provision of jobs by creating the enabling environment for the establishment of industries.

Igwe Godwin Okosisi Nwobu (Ugwundu II), in his remarks praised the qualities of the APGA Gubernatorial Candidate and prayed for the protection and success of the team in the elections. He went further to urge Nweke to continue to distinguish himself by ensuring that his campaign promises to transform lives were fulfilled to every community should he emerge as the Governor by March.

“That is what government and politics is about. Any politics that fails to improve the lives of our people has lost its purpose and reason to exist. My word is my bond” Nweke stated.
