We've Gotten A Lot Of Intel About Potential Assassination Attempts On My Life — LP's Gbadebo Rhodes

The Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate for Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has revealed that he has gotten a lot of intel about potential assassination attempts on his life. Rhodes-Vivour made this known during an interview on Arise TV following a reported attack on his convoy at Epe, Lagos State on Saturday, the 11th of March, 2023.

During the interview, the interviewer said that there was a report of an attack carried out on his convoy as gunmen reportedly shot at his team.

He asked Rhodes-Vivour if he thinks he is the main target of the attack, which confirms what was earlier said by Bode George about a potential assassination attempt.

Rhodes-Vivour responded that it was true they got attacked, and they were shot at. He added that he was truly the main target as they have gotten a lot of intel about a potential assassination attempt on his life.

“There have been a lot of threats, we’ve gotten a lot of intel about potential assassination attempts on my life. Yesterday in Epe, we had the Honorable Wale Oluwo with us. We also had Honorable Matthew of the PDP working with us, and they were also shot at in Epe yesterday… There was a lot of anger among the APC youths that were there. I mean, these people were wearing ‘Greater Rising’ T-shirts, so we are not speculating they were APC,” he said.

He also added that Lagos needs to be moved from ‘agberocracy’, which has made Lagos to be defined as a place of violence, anger, suppression and intimidation. He added that if one does their job appropriately, they won’t need to intimidate people.

Tribune Online reported that on Monday, the 6th of March, the former deputy chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George had raised an alarm over an alleged threat to the life of the governorship candidate of Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour. He called on security agencies to ensure a non-violent poll in the state on election day.
