A Plateau State Area Court in Jos has sentenced a 31-year-old man, identified as Sani Ukasha, for failing to produce an accused person he stood for surety.
The prosecutor, Insp Gokwat Ibrahim, on Thursday, informed the court that the surety failed to produce the accused person in a case of seasoning cubes theft in contravention of the State Penal Code.
Ukasha pleaded guilty to the charge and pleaded for leniency.
Justice Shawomi Bokkos, in his ruling, sentenced the surety to three months imprisonment with an option of N10,000 fine.
