Good day His Excellency, Dr Peter Mba. The Executive Governor of Enugu State and CEO Pinacle Oil and Gas.
Congratulations Sir
My Name is Mr Onyia Eloka Rex the CEO Benz Klinik.
I’m delighted to have you as our new Governor.
The reason I’m Writing this open later to you is that I have seen the zeal, love and passion you have for Enugu people, despite all the political challenges that you faced. I understand and may God give you strength.
I have an important message for you sir,
- For the past 8 years Ndi Enugu have been suffering from insecurity
- Lack of Infrastructure
- No Road Network
- Poor Health Care
- Poor Educational System
- No pipe-borne water but of which you have promised to address the
issue within 180 days. - High rate of unemployment is the most important one because an
unemployed graduate is a loaded gun in a society.
Not that the past administration didn’t want to work and attend to the issues of Ndi Enugu but the government was hijacked by old political leaders who call themselves Stakeholders. We need competent industrious people that have the progress of Ndi Enugu at Heart.
For Instance, after the closure of the Enugu Zoo the government have not been able to site a new Location for a Zoo or a Wild Life Games Reserve in Enugu state. Also the past regimes abandoned Enugu Presidential Hotel that could have helped to increase the State’s IGR and boost Tourism in Enugu.
Again for More than 30 years, the Pride of Enugu the “Rangers International” Football Club have never been close to winning the championship but immediately Bar. Amobi Ezeaku became the TM and Hon. Osita Nwangwu (RG) the major sponsor one of the team they won the Trophy. These Young-Spirited individuals are the kind of people you need to work with.
In Enugu, the moribund company Avop Vegetable Oil in Udi, which needs to be revived employed over 300 staffs, and other indirect employment. This statistics made us to understand that revamping the old industries will create more employment and opportunities, and if you employ one person you have satisfied 10 people around that person.
When the Enugu Coal Company was operational, it employed more than 5000 staffs. Then the GDP Enugu State was about 25% but now it has declined to 1.9% which is a major problem.
Sir, it’s important to bring back Enugu to its past glory as the Capital and Pride of the South East. Because to whom much is given much expected.
We all know that one of the major cause of Unemployment in any society is skill of Labour which requires Training and Retraining of more Youths, both graduate and Undergraduates. This will create more jobs and employment in Enugu State, and this can be achieved through vocational education and SMEs.
Currently, we have been running a lot of Skill Acquisition programs in Enugu. Themed: ‘One Youth, One Skill’.
As a Technocrat and employer of Labour, we know you have the capacity and capability to improve this areas and take Enugu state from consumption to production.
May God Almighty guide protect you and give you wisdom as you lead Enugu State to Greatness, in Jesus name.
