The Organised Labour have described their discussions with President Bola Tinubu on petrol subsidy removal palliatives as “fruitful and productive.”
Gists9ja reports that after the meeting, Joe Ajaero, national president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), said they thoroughly examined the proposed measures, but that the concerns that sparked the protests persist.
He did not provide any assurance regarding the cancellation or continuation of the nationwide protests against the economic difficulties resulting from the removal of petrol subsidy.
The protests against the removal of petrol subsidy began today. The protesters demand that the government reverse the decision, and the minimum wages of workers be reviewed among others.
