The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has commended the Super Falcons’s effort following their defeat to England via penalty shoot-out in the Round of 16 on Monday.
Gists9ja reports that England beat Nigeria 4-2 on penalties on Monday to reach the quarter-finals of the Women’s World Cup after their last-16 tie finished 0-0 at the end of extra time.
Speaking with reporters after the match, the First Lady hailed the team for the impressive performance at the tournament, saying that she is very proud of them.
Tinubu, who was in the company of the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, and the wife of the Senate President Ekaette Akpabio, also applauded the coaching crew.
The wife of the President, therefore, assured the team of her continued support for the team.
