Are You Insinuating Nigerian Judicial System Is Corrupt Or What? – Bashir Ahmad Tackles Peter Obi Over Comment On P&ID Case

Bashir Ahmad, former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has tackled the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, over his comment on the court ruling, which awarded a landmark victory to the Nigerian Government over Process & Industrial Development (P&ID) Limited.

Judge Robin Knowles of the Business and Property Court in London ruled in favour of Nigeria and quashed the enforcement of the $11 billion arbitration award in favour of P&ID.

In a statement via X on Wednesday, Peter Obi congratulated the legal team that handled the major judiciary victory recorded at the United Kingdom court.

According to the former Governor of Anambra State, Nigeria won the case because it was decided in a nation known for its respect for the rule of law and where the judiciary system delivers justice freely and fairly.

Peter Obi noted that Nigeria won the $11 billion P&ID deal, but more significant amounts have gone unaccounted for in the country, and its culprits are walking freely on the street.

He added that the P&ID deal is a lesson for Nigeria’s judiciary to learn to give justice to the common man to enable the country to enjoy peace, progress and unity.

Commenting on the post, Bashir faulted Peter Obi’s statement and questioned if he was insinuating that the Nigerian judicial system is corrupt.
