Just In: Police Teargas Women Protesters Semanding Removal Of Bayelsa CP [VIDEO]

Police officers have dispersed a group of women who stormed the command headquarters in Yenagoa, demanding the removal of the Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa state, Tolani Alausa.

The women, dressed in black attire, insisted on the removal of the police commissioner before the off-cycle governorship election on Saturday, citing concerns about neutrality.

According to the report, despite their demands, the protesters were dispersed with tear gas when they refused to leave the facility.

Shortly after, another group of protesters arrived at the command headquarters to express support for Commissioner Alausa.

The deployment of Alausa to Bayelsa took place on November 7, and he assumed duty as the 36th commissioner of police in the state.
