Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, is presently in court seeking a modification of his bail conditions.
He is facing trial on six counts related to procurement fraud amounting to N1.2 billion.
This marks the initial occasion where he appears in court without heavily armed security personnel escorting him to the courtroom.
Emefiele secured his release from Kuje Custodial Centre on December 23, 2023, 34 days after being granted bail by the judge.
He is petitioning the court to reconsider certain aspects of his bail conditions.
Justice Hamza Muazu of the FCT High Court is deliberating on the arguments presented in this matter.
