The body of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, has arrived in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, as preparations are underway for his final burial.
The remains are currently en route to the National Christian Centre in Abuja, where a service of songs will be held to honor his life and service. This ceremony will be followed by a formal military parade and burial scheduled for Friday, November 15, 2024, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja.
Lieutenant General Lagbaja, a distinguished officer from Osun State, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Since taking office on June 23, 2023, he made substantial contributions to strengthening the nation’s security operations and infrastructure.
He leaves behind a legacy through his wife, children, siblings, and extended family, who now mourn his loss and remember his dedication to his country.
