President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications for the State House.
This appointment was made alongside three other key roles announced on Thursday, November 14.
Bwala, previously an ally of opposition figure Atiku Abubakar, joins a team of newly appointed officials to bolster the administration’s communication strategy and public engagement. The appointments were detailed in a statement from Bayo Onanuga, the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
Alongside Bwala, Tinubu also named Olawale Olopade as Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Abisoye Fagade as Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, and Adebowale Adedokun as Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement.
Olopade, a seasoned sports administrator, brings extensive experience to the National Sports Commission, having previously served as Commissioner of Youth and Sports in Ogun State and chaired the organizing committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.
Fagade, who will lead the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, has a background in marketing communications and is the founder and CEO of Sodium Brand Solutions. Adedokun, the new head of the Bureau of Public Procurement, previously worked as Director of Research, Training, and Strategic Planning at the same bureau, giving him insight into his new role.
Bwala, who will advise on media and public communications, is a lawyer and well-known public affairs analyst. In his statement, Onanuga noted that President Tinubu has called on all new appointees to approach their roles with dedication, a sense of national service, and a commitment to excellence.
