Banjo Osibemekun, a 61-year-old resident of William Street in Swanmore, UK, recently pleaded guilty to charges of possessing fraudulent identification documents.
Specifically, Osibemekun admitted to holding a forged Nigerian passport and a fake British driving license, with the offences spanning a period from October 29, 2009, to July 18, 2024.
During a court appearance at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Monday, November 18, Osibemekun acknowledged the charges against him. His defence attorney, Oscar Vincent, requested a pre-sentence report, citing various personal circumstances that could potentially impact the sentencing decision.
The presiding judge, William Ashcroft, approved this request, granting additional time for the report to be prepared. The case has been adjourned until February 6, 2025, when Osibemekun will return to the Isle of Wight Crown Court for his sentencing hearing. Until that date, he has been released on unconditional bail.
