APC Denies Suspension of Governorship Candidate Aishatu Binani, Launches Investigation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected claims that its governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Senator Aishatu Ahmed (popularly known as Binani), has been suspended from the party. In a statement issued on Thursday evening, the party clarified that the reports circulating about her suspension were false.

The APC’s national vice chairman for the North East, Mustapha Salihu, condemned the false information and instructed that those responsible for spreading the “fake” news be identified and held accountable. The party’s leadership in Adamawa stated that the misleading report was likely orchestrated by individuals unhappy with the ongoing efforts of party leaders, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu (National Security Adviser) and Comrade Mustapha Salihu, to resolve internal issues and foster unity within the state chapter of the party.

The APC further clarified that the Yola South Local Government Area had officially confirmed that Binani had not been suspended. The party’s state chairman, Idris Shuaibu, reiterated that Senator Binani remains a vital and legitimate member of the APC, as well as a key stakeholder in the state.

To address the situation, Mustapha Salihu ordered a thorough investigation into the origins of the false suspension claim. The party stressed that any individuals found responsible for inciting division and confusion would face serious disciplinary action.
