Pastor Tobi Adegboyega Claims His Luxurious Lifestyle is Funded by His Wife in Deportation Appeal
In a recent appeal to avoid deportation from the United Kingdom, Nigerian pastor Tobi Adegboyega revealed that his extravagant lifestyle is solely funded by his wife, Mary Alade. Adegboyega, who is facing deportation after overstaying his visa, told the UK immigration tribunal that he relies entirely on his wife, who works for AON and earns an annual income of £100,000, to support him.
The self-acclaimed man of God explained that he lives with his wife and spends his time working as an unpaid staff member at his church, Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church (SPAC Nation). Despite his lack of formal employment, Adegboyega stated that he has never received any financial compensation from the church for his role.
Adegboyega, who holds a first-class degree in law, also shared that he sacrificed a promising legal career to dedicate his life to helping troubled youths on the streets of London. He believes his work in the community, which aims to inspire and support young people, is crucial. However, when questioned about his expensive lifestyle, the pastor defended his lavish spending, explaining that it is part of his strategy to create a lasting impression on the youth he seeks to inspire.
“I believe it is important for me to ooze luxury and create a lasting impression in the minds of young people who I claim to inspire,” Adegboyega said. “I’ve never taken a dime from the church; my lifestyle is solely sponsored by my wife.”
These revelations were part of Adegboyega’s defense against the accusations surrounding his deportation, as the tribunal scrutinized his financial circumstances and extravagant way of life in the context of his legal status in the UK. Despite his claims of contributing to the community, the tribunal is expected to continue reviewing the case, with the final decision on his deportation still pending.
