A Roqqu Wallet user has reported falling victim to a possible cryptocurrency scam after attempting to transfer $1,525.43 worth of Bitcoin, which had been swapped to USDT, to their Trust Wallet. The incident took place on December 13, following a series of transactions.
According to the user, they had initially received $2,000 worth of Bitcoin via Roqqu and proceeded to convert $500 into Naira, which was successfully withdrawn. However, when they swapped the remaining Bitcoin into USDT and initiated a transfer to their Trust Wallet, the transaction was deducted from their account but never reached its intended destination.
In an attempt to resolve the issue, the user contacted Roqqu’s customer support, who requested several pieces of information to assist with the investigation. These included:
- A photo of the user holding a valid ID,
- A bank statement from November 1, 2024, to the present,
- Screenshots of the last two cryptocurrency transactions received.
Despite providing all requested documentation, the user became increasingly concerned about the possibility of fraudulent activity, particularly since their account had already been verified. Furthermore, smaller transactions, such as a $4 USDT transfer, had been processed without any issues.
This unfortunate experience highlights the risks associated with cryptocurrency platforms, especially when it comes to large transactions. It underscores the importance of having strong security measures in place and responsive support systems to protect users from potential scams and fraudulent activities.
