BREAKING: FG To Expose Names Of Banks Owing Telcos Almost ₦200 Billion On USSD

Emerging reports suggest that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration is preparing to disclose the names of 18 banks allegedly owing nearly ₦200 billion to Nigerian telecommunications operators for Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) services.

According to Vanguard, these banks have reportedly refused to settle the outstanding debts despite several years of negotiations and reminders.

The decision to publicize the names of the defaulting banks appears to be aimed at pressuring telecom companies to discontinue providing USSD services that facilitate convenient online banking for the banks’ customers.
