The General Overseer of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, has shared the remarkable story behind the acquisition of the church’s aircraft.
Contrary to widespread speculation, he clarified that the plane was not purchased using funds from church offerings.
Speaking during a recent sermon, Oyedepo emphasized that the aircraft came as a divine provision, without any prior planning, fundraising, or even prayers dedicated to its purchase. He described the acquisition as a miraculous fulfillment of God’s agenda rather than a personal ambition.
In his words:
“God provided the first aircraft without any pressure, without any fundraising effort, and without anyone being contacted for financial support. It was not something we planned for, nor was it something we prayed about. God simply spoke it into existence, and I believed it. That was enough to make it happen.”
The renowned cleric further explained that if it had been left to him, he would have postponed the idea of acquiring an aircraft, considering it an overwhelming responsibility. However, he stressed that the plane was not a luxury but a necessity for the church’s mission, enabling the rapid spread of the Gospel across Africa.
“If God had asked me when I wanted the aircraft, I would have told Him to take it easy because I wouldn’t have thought we were ready. In fact, I didn’t even know how much an aircraft cost at the time. But God did not give us the chance to hesitate or analyze. And it wasn’t just a small aircraft for short trips; it was one that allows us to travel across the entire continent, reaching more souls with the Gospel.”
Oyedepo’s testimony reinforces his longstanding message on faith, divine provision, and unwavering trust in God’s timing.
