Rev. Fr. Chibuzo Emmanuel Obimma, popularly known as Ebube Muonso, has alleged that the murder of Anambra lawmaker Justice Azuka was politically motivated.
In a video circulating online, the cleric claimed that Azuka was targeted because he was a member of the Labour Party rather than the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). He also accused the state government of complicity in the suspects’ escape.
“Can you imagine? The suspects who were apprehended for the death of Hon. Azuka from the Labour Party—he was not from APGA, not from APC, but Labour Party.
The suspects were arrested and handed over to Anambra State security. How come that two of them escaped from prison? Can you imagine?” Obimma questioned.
He alleged that the suspects’ escape was orchestrated to protect powerful individuals who did not want the truth exposed. He also suggested that corruption within the security system played a role in the development.
“The inhumanity of man to man—once you are connected to the powers that be, then you are under perpetual immunity. But let everyone in charge remember that there is God in everything we do in this world. I said it earlier, you are on your own,” he stated.
Obimma further criticized Governor Charles Soludo’s administration, questioning its ability to maintain law and order in the state. “I wonder, is Soludo really in charge? They wanted to cover up something,” he alleged.
