Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly addressed her brother, Lawrence, also known as Sweezy, after social media users accused him of showcasing a fake Rolex watch.
The controversy began when Regina, amidst rumors of a marital crisis with her billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko, flaunted her newly purchased Rolex watch on Instagram. She claimed the luxury timepiece cost her a whopping $30,000.
However, an Italian luxury shopping brand, @T20luxury, challenged the authenticity of the watch, claiming it was a counterfeit. In a detailed analysis, the brand pointed out inconsistencies in the packaging and design, which led them to conclude that the watch was not an original Rolex.
Luxury Brand’s Allegations
@T20luxury highlighted several discrepancies in Regina’s Rolex, stating:
- The model she displayed was a vintage Rolex Datejust Two-Tone, which should have come in an older Rolex box, not a modern one.
- The date lens was missing, raising authenticity concerns.
- The internal and external coloring of the box did not match Rolex’s standards.
- The gold crown appeared shinier than what is typically seen on an original Rolex.
Following these claims, Regina Daniels took to her Instagram story to express her confusion, calling on her brother to clarify the situation.
She wrote:
“Brother, @sweezzy abeg come and explain yourself. Because I don’t understand what’s going on.”
Regina’s Brother Fires Back
Responding to the allegations, Sweezy slammed the luxury brand for what he described as a misleading post. He argued that their claim lacked proper verification and urged them to balance their reporting by also sharing positive content.
He wrote:
“Dear @t20luxury, contrary to your post about Regina’s Rolex, I hope this helps you get a clearer insight into what you seek. As you post negative, post positive. Let’s be guided!! Regina’s name go make all of us mad last last. And I rate you before o. He say he no see the date like well werey.”
