A U.S.-based police officer of African origin has stirred significant reactions online after sharing a video in which he flaunts traditional spiritual symbols while issuing a bold warning to his coworkers.
The officer, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, posted the video on X (formerly Twitter), making it clear that he relocated to the United States with a singular focus: to make money—not friends.
In the video, he directly addresses his colleagues, urging them to avoid unnecessary personal interactions with him at work. He emphasized that he has no interest in forming social connections in the workplace and warned them to steer clear.
“This message is for whichever of my coworkers needs to hear it—I didn’t come to America to make friends. I came from Africa to find money,” he declared.
To reinforce his message, the officer showed off a series of symbolic markings and charms on various parts of his body, including his hands, stomach, and back. According to him, these symbols represent his Fulani heritage and serve as spiritual tools to communicate with his ancestors.
“This is my symbol as a Fulani,” he said. “This is what I use to communicate with my ancestors in heaven. Don’t mess with me—I’m from Wakanda.”
The statement, particularly his reference to the fictional African kingdom “Wakanda” from Marvel’s Black Panther, has drawn a mix of amusement, curiosity, and concern from social media users. While some viewers applauded him for embracing his roots and establishing personal boundaries, others expressed unease over the display of spiritual charms in a professional setting.
