Joy Mojisola Raimi, a 24-year-old beauty queen representing Osun State, has emerged as the winner of the prestigious Miss World Nigeria 2025 crown.
The highly anticipated grand finale of the pageant was held at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, drawing participants and spectators from across the country.
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, the founder and chief organizer of the Miss World Nigeria competition, officially announced Raimi’s victory via his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday.
Raimi, an alumna of the University of Port Harcourt, outshone 36 other contestants from different Nigerian states to claim the top honor. Her outstanding performance throughout the competition, coupled with her compelling personal story and passion for humanitarian causes, helped secure her place as the nation’s representative at the upcoming international event.
She will be flying Nigeria’s flag at the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant, scheduled to take place in Hyderabad, India, from May 7 to May 31, 2025. The global event will bring together contestants from over 140 countries.
In a heartfelt message shared by Senator Murray-Bruce, he praised Raimi not just for her beauty and poise, but for her resilience and commitment to making a difference. “Congratulations to Joy Mojisola Raimi, the 24-year-old representing Osun State, on being crowned Miss World Nigeria 2025!” he wrote. “Raimi, a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, is the founder of ‘The Love for Humanity’ project—an initiative dedicated to promoting compassion and restoring faith in humanity.”
During the final round of the pageant, Raimi was among the top five contestants alongside representatives from Imo, Ebonyi, Abuja, and Abia. In a powerful and emotional response to a question on overcoming bullying, she opened up about her childhood struggles. Having lost her mother at a young age, she faced emotional abuse and neglect from a caregiver who told her she would never succeed. Her victory, she said, is a testament to perseverance and self-belief.
Now crowned Miss World Nigeria 2025, Raimi is preparing to inspire a global audience, aiming to showcase not only Nigeria’s culture and elegance but also its spirit of resilience and humanitarianism. Her story continues to inspire young women across the country, reminding them that with courage and purpose, every obstacle can be transformed into a stepping stone to greatness.
