Imo State Governor and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has described former President Muhammadu Buhari’s legacy as a “shining light” that continues to inspire both the party and the nation.
Governor Uzodimma made the remarks on Monday while leading a delegation of APC governors on a courtesy visit to the former president. The visit, according to him, was a demonstration of the forum’s collective admiration and respect for Buhari’s enduring contributions to Nigeria’s development.
“I had the distinct honour of leading my colleagues in the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) on a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari,” Uzodimma said. “This visit was deeply rooted in our collective respect, loyalty, and enduring appreciation for his exceptional statesmanship and impactful leadership.”
He emphasized that President Buhari’s tenure was marked by strong values of integrity, unity, and dedicated public service—principles that remain central to the party’s vision.
“President Buhari’s legacy remains a guiding light for our party and the nation at large. His commitment to national unity and integrity continues to shape the governance philosophy we embrace today. It is especially encouraging to see President Bola Ahmed Tinubu building on these progressive foundations,” he added.
The governor further noted that Nigeria still stands to benefit greatly from Buhari’s vast experience and wisdom. He reassured the former president that the APC remains firmly committed to preserving the ideals he championed while in office.
“As we shared warm and thoughtful discussions, we reaffirmed our appreciation for former President Buhari’s selfless service. We also offered prayers for his continued strength, good health, and longevity. His insight and experience remain valuable assets to the nation,” Uzodimma said.
The meeting serves not only as a symbol of unity within the APC but also as an affirmation of the party’s commitment to continuity in governance and upholding the legacy of one of its most prominent figures.
