The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially selected Jude Ezenwafor as its governorship candidate for the upcoming 2025 Anambra State election, which is scheduled for November 8th.
Ezenwafor secured the party’s nomination after earning 798 votes in a primary election held on Tuesday in Awka. The total number of delegates eligible to vote in the election was 999, with 853 delegates accredited. Of the votes cast, 26 were deemed invalid, according to the results obtained by our reporter.
In a related development, Nwafor Nwali, the publicity secretary of the PDP in Ebonyi State, previously spoke with Naija News, affirming that the party is determined to present a strong candidate capable of unseating Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Nwali criticized the manner in which Soludo emerged as the APGA candidate, calling it a flawed process. “Charles Soludo did not emerge from a strong, well-conducted party congress. It was a fraud. How can a party like APGA use voice votes to accept Soludo as its sole candidate?” he questioned.
Nwali also raised concerns about the candidacy of Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), highlighting issues with his selection process. “The emergence of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has led to the resignation of key APC stakeholders. How can you expect such a candidate, who emerged through irregularities, to win the election?” he remarked.
The former South East PDP Media Director expressed confidence that the PDP’s candidate would triumph in the Anambra governorship race, signaling a strong belief in the party’s ability to secure victory.
