Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will serve two terms in office, totaling eight years.
Gists9ja reports that Governor Eno, who was elected under the banner of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, made the remark on Tuesday during the official flag-off of the Akwa Ibom segment of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.
Speaking at the event, the governor emphasized his commitment to working collaboratively with the federal government for the benefit of the state, regardless of political affiliations.
“President Bola Tinubu will be here for eight years, and we are ready to work with him in the interest of our people,” Eno stated, acknowledging the president’s developmental efforts.
His comment has sparked political discussions, given the partisan differences between the PDP and APC. However, Eno’s remark may signal a shift toward bipartisan cooperation on critical national infrastructure and development projects.
The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, a flagship initiative of the Tinubu administration, is expected to enhance connectivity, boost commerce, and stimulate economic activities across Nigeria’s coastal states. The Akwa Ibom section is seen as a key component of the project’s success.
