In the early hours of Tuesday, April 16, 2025, unidentified assailants armed with cutlasses and firearms launched an attack on the family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The incident occurred in Obeiba-Ihima, located in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
According to reports from intelligence sources, the assault took place at approximately 1:00 a.m., with at least three armed men involved in the operation. The attackers reportedly vandalised parts of the building, smashing windows and causing significant property damage.
The Senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, promptly alerted the relevant security agencies, triggering a rapid response from personnel at the Okehi Police Division. Law enforcement officers arrived swiftly at the scene to assess the situation and secure the area.
Although no injuries or fatalities were recorded during the attack, the home sustained visible damage. No suspects have been apprehended so far, but security operatives have launched preliminary investigations and documented the extent of the destruction.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that police sources have yet to determine the motive behind the incident. It remains unclear whether the attack was politically motivated, a targeted threat, or an act of criminal intimidation.
As of the time of this report, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan—who represents the Kogi Central Senatorial District and is known for her vocal political stance—has not released an official statement concerning the attack on her family home.
