World Earth Day: Sir Azuka Okwuosa Calls For Critical Intervention For Environmental Protection

As the Earth Day themed OUR POWER, OUR PLANET emphasizing on the urgency of making the transition to renewable energy quickly and calling on people, organisations, and governments to triple the output of clean energy by 2030 is celebrated, the leading APC Senatorial Contender, Sir Azuka Okwuosa calls for individuals, organisations and the government to internationally demonstrate strategical support towards Earth’s protection.

Chinyelugo lamented that the environment is continually threatened by pollution, deforestation, climate change and endangered species, calling for all hands to be on deck to ensure that the natural habitats do not go into extinction and the earth slips under our foot. He went further admonishly saying that that in as much as natural features play important roles in safeguarding the earth, human efforts play complementary roles in reducing pollution, conserving resources, and promoting sustainable practices needed for long-term protection.

He bemoaned the effects of erosion, bush burning , Industrial Chemicals, radioactive materials and other pollutants do to our space , calling for action to avert the imminent dire consequences.

“Let’s collectively protect our environment for our children yet unborn for them to have a place they can call home”.

“Happy World Earth Day! The earth is the lord’s and the fullness thereof; but we are the dominant habitats and the custodians, let’s endeavor to protect it maximally ‘makana ebe onye bi ka ọ na-awachi’ “.
