Scandal Rocks Access Bank Over Sacked Staff Who Secretly Filmed Female Colleagues

Access Bank has announced the dismissal of a staff member implicated in a disturbing case of privacy violation, confirming that it is working closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure thorough investigation and justice.

In an official statement signed by the bank’s management, Access Bank stated that the incident, involving the secret filming of employees in the bank’s restrooms, has been formally reported to the relevant authorities. The bank assured the public that an investigation is actively underway.

“We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy against harassment and any breach of privacy,” the statement emphasized.
“We are fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities and are actively engaging with affected employees to provide necessary support and counseling.”

The management also urged the public to rely solely on updates issued through the bank’s official communication channels, stressing that the safety, dignity, and welfare of its employees and customers remain paramount.

The statement follows widespread outrage on social media, where the dismissed staff member was identified as Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie, a former quality assurance specialist at Access Bank’s contact centre located in Oniru, Lagos.

Ejezie was allegedly caught in the female restroom around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, where he was found to have secretly recorded numerous video clips of his colleagues over time. Reports suggest that hundreds of inappropriate recordings were discovered, sparking serious concerns among staff and the public.

Although Access Bank promptly terminated Ejezie’s employment following internal investigations, some affected employees have reportedly voiced fears regarding the likelihood of obtaining justice and ensuring that the breach is fully addressed.

In its response, Access Bank expressed appreciation to stakeholders, employees, and the general public for their concern and continued support. The bank reiterated its commitment to a safe and respectful work environment and assured that all necessary steps are being taken to support victims and bring the matter to a lawful conclusion.
