
A Nigerian man, said to be a member of his church’s financial committee, has admitted to using a portion of the church’s offering to place a SportyBet wager that earned him ₦2 million.
This was disclosed in an anonymous post shared on the popular social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
The man explained that he succumbed to pressure and diverted church funds to place a bet.
Despite winning a significant amount, he now battles with guilt and confusion over what to do next.
In his anonymous confession, he wrote: “I’m a member of my church’s financial committee. Due to pressure, I used part of the church offering to place a bet on SportyBet and won ₦2 million. I feel deeply guilty because it’s God’s money. Now I’m torn between returning it all or relocating to another state and changing my number.
”The post quickly went viral, sparking a flood of reactions as users filled the comment section with a mix of opinions and advice.
