Barcelona sporting director, Deco, has named four players he believes have a strong chance of winning the 2025 Ballon d’Or. His picks include Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Ousmane Dembélé, and Vitinha, praising their standout performances and influence at both club and international levels this season.
The 47-year-old identified Barcelona duo Pedri and Lamine Yamal as strong contenders for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
He also included Vitinha and Ousmane Dembélé of Paris Saint-Germain among the top candidates for the prestigious award.
Deco, speaking to La Vanguardia (via Barça Universal), stated, “Lamine has a chance [to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or], like Pedri, Dembélé or Vitinha.
”He added, “The great thing is to see Barcelona back in the running for the awards.
”The winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or is set to be announced in September.
Manchester City’s Rodri claimed the top individual honour last year, edging out Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
