Inter Miami manager, Javier Mascherano, has offered an explanation for his team’s 4-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 clash held on Sunday.
In his post-match interview, Mascherano acknowledged the significant gap in quality between Inter Miami and PSG.The Argentine manager described PSG as the best team in the world and praised their coach, Luis Enrique, as an exceptional tactician.“You could see the difference between both teams — it’s very big, but we tried to work hard and compete,” Mascherano said.
“We faced probably the best team in the world with an incredible manager,” Mascherano said.He added, “I’m proud of my players. If anything, we competed well.
Mascherano watched as PSG handed Inter Miami a crushing defeat in their Club World Cup Round of 16 clash at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
A brace from João Neves, along with a goal from Achraf Hakimi and an own goal by Tomás Avilés, secured the victory for Luis Enrique’s side over the MLS club.
