A Nigerian pastor has sparked online reactions after refusing a ₦30 offering from a woman, claiming that the amount was disrespectful to God.
This was revealed in a video shared on the popular social media platform X (formerly Twitter), which has since gone viral.
In the footage, the pastor dressed in a blue suit is seen walking up to a woman seated in a car who tried to hand him the offering. He declined to accept the money and openly explained his reasons for doing so.
He questioned the woman’s motive, pointing out that she wouldn’t use ₦30 to purchase an iPad or any other valuable item, yet considered it appropriate to give that amount as an offering to God.
He went on to state that he was not only rejecting the money, but that God was also rejecting it.
In response, the woman confronted the pastor, criticizing him for dismissing her offering and condemning his reaction.
The video has since ignited widespread debate online, with users flooding the comment section to share differing views.
While some defended the pastor’s position, others condemned him for publicly humiliating the woman over her contribution.
