Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has suggested that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) offers a platform capable of fostering a truly united Nigeria.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Bashir El-Rufai expressed that, for the first time in his life, he was witnessing a sense of national unity.
“I’m sensing a united Nigeria under the flag of the ADC — for the first time in my life as a Nigerian,” he wrote.
Bashir El-Rufai’s statement follows the formal adoption of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Wednesday by a coalition of opposition figures as their official political platform for the 2027 elections, aimed at unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The event reportedly drew the attendance of several prominent political figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi.
