Lady Accuses Afro Nation of ‘Theft’ After $1,105 Ticket Was Canceled Without Refund

A frustrated festivalgoer has accused Afro Nation of “stealing” from her after her $1,105 Golden Ticket for the Portugal edition of the music festival was canceled, and no refund was issued.

The woman explained that she initially purchased the ticket for the event scheduled from July 9–11 but was later unable to attend due to personal reasons. Upon contacting the organizers via email, she was informed that the only way to recoup her money was to transfer the ticket, as she had not paid for ticket protection.

She agreed to transfer the ticket but said she never received a follow-up or confirmation. Growing concerned, she contacted her bank, American Express (Amex), which temporarily refunded her while they attempted to reach Afro Nation. However, weeks later, the charge was reversed after Afro Nation responded, claiming the transaction was valid.

Left with no other choice, she considered attending the event despite her earlier challenges, but last-minute flight prices were unaffordable. She then attempted to resell or give the ticket away—only to discover it had been canceled.

“When I clicked on the link, it showed that the ticket had been canceled. I believe they canceled it when I got the temporary refund from my bank, and I wasn’t aware,” she said.

Fuming, she questioned, “How do you cancel a ticket I paid for and then refuse to refund me?”

Now unable to attend the festival due to the canceled ticket, she labeled the incident “pure theft” and called on Afro Nation to issue a refund. “$1,100 is a lot of money for me to let go,” she pleaded. “@afronation please do the right thing and refund me my money!”

She also shared alleged evidence, including an email from Afro Nation acknowledging the ticket’s cancellation while still denying a refund. “Guys, here is proof they canceled my ticket—and here is an email admitting it but saying they still won’t refund me. I’m so upset. @afronation please refund me my money!!!!”
