President Bola Tinubu has named Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former APC National Chairman, as Chairman of the FAAN Board.
The announcement was made during the official inauguration of the newly reconstituted FAAN board in Abuja on Tuesday.
Ganduje’s swift appointment follows closely on the heels of his resignation as APC National Chairman, a move prompted by growing internal party tensions and public criticism.
His immediate reassignment has sparked discussions, with many interpreting it as a calculated political strategy by the presidency.
As the new chairman of the FAAN board an agency responsible for overseeing the operations and development of Nigeria’s commercial airports Ganduje is expected to help shape policy direction and drive institutional reforms within the aviation sector.
