Nollywood star-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo speaks on his intention to support a Northerner in the 2027 presidential election.
He opened up on this during an interview with channel TV.
In a recent interview, Kenneth Okonkwo asserted that no Southern candidate has the political strength to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election.He argued that if the African Democratic Congress (ADC) reserves its presidential ticket solely for a Southern candidate, it would essentially hand Tinubu an easy victory.Okonkwo declared his intention to support a Northern candidate in the 2027 presidential race, stressing that only a candidate with the full backing of the North stands a real chance against Tinubu.Sharing part of his strategy, he said:“I’ve decided to support a Northerner in 2027. My condition is that the North must be fully united behind the candidate. The person must be qualified, experienced—and if they have prior presidential experience, that’s an added advantage.”
