Senator Ireti Kingibe Accuses FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of Ruling with an ‘Emperor Mentality’.
The FCT Senator also alleged that Wike has neglected critical issues impacting Abuja residents.
In an interview with Channels Television, Senator Ireti Kingibe explained that she had initially chosen to soften her public stance on the Minister, hoping it would foster collaboration and drive development for the sake of her constituents.
“In the past few months, I reflected and thought, ‘Ultimately, all I want is for my people to benefit,’” she said.
“I figured that if toning down my criticism of the minister would encourage development, then so be it. So, I chose to reduce my public remarks against him. But it hasn’t made any difference he carries himself with an emperor-like mindset.
”The senator added that her restraint was misinterpreted, claiming Wike saw it as a sign of weakness or submission.
“He simply assumed, ‘I’ve subdued her—case closed,’ and things have actually deteriorated,” she stated, adding, “At least during my first year as senator, he paid the FCDA staff salaries. Now, they’re not even getting paid.
”According to Gist9ja, Kingibe’s latest comments further highlight the ongoing rift between her and the FCT Minister, stemming from disputes over governance and developmental challenges in the capital.
