Man under fire after selling ₦5m Worth of baby Supplies for ₦1.2m Following Wife’s Death after Childbirth

A man whose wife died shortly after delivering their twin babies has sparked outrage after it was revealed he sold donated baby supplies—valued at over ₦5 million—for just ₦1.2 million. The supplies, which included baby food, clothes, diapers, wipes, and other essentials, were contributed by well-meaning individuals following an online appeal for support.

The items had been stocked in a shop to aid the twins’ care and upkeep.

However, reports claim the man sold everything at a drastically reduced price, and allegedly could not afford medication worth ₦10,000 for one of the twins—an act many say contributed to the babies’ reported deaths.

However, the woman revealed that the man, popularly known as “Baba Twins,” sold all of the items to a woman in Benin for just ₦1.2 million.

In an emotional video, she said, “This morning, we got a call from the Ministry of Justice. Baba Twins wants to go to the bank to withdraw ₦500,000 from the children’s account.

”She continued, “All the baby food, the wipes, the pampers, the clothes, the shoes everything that fans donated Papa Twins sold everything to a woman in Benin. Everything in that shop was worth over ₦5 million. He sold it all for ₦1.2 million.

”She also noted that the state ministry contacted her after the man attempted to withdraw money meant for the twins’ welfare.
