Buhari’s Body Arrives Nigeria, Tinubu, Dignitaries Receive Remains in Katsina

The remains of late former President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Nigeria on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, as the Nigerian Air Force aircraft conveying his body touched down at the Umar Musa Yar’adua Airport in Katsina around noon.

A brief but solemn military ceremony followed the arrival, with soldiers respectfully carrying the casket draped in the national flag of Nigeria.President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led the federal delegation at the airport to receive Buhari’s body.

Joining him were several state governors, federal ministers, members of the National Assembly, and other top government officials.

From the airport, the late president’s body will be transported to his hometown, Daura, Katsina State, where he will be laid to rest later today. Funeral prayers are scheduled to be held in accordance with Islamic rites before the final interment.

The event marks a moment of national mourning and reflection, as Nigerians across the country pay tribute to the former leader’s service and legacy.
