INEC Urges Anambra Residents: Register Now to Vote in 2025 Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on all eligible residents of Anambra State to participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ahead of the upcoming November 8, 2025 governorship election.

The CVR window is open from July 8 to July 17, 2025, and will be held daily from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, including weekends, across all 326 electoral wards in the state.

Who Should Register?

Citizens aged 18 years and above who have never registered.Those who have relocated and need to update their registration details.

Individuals whose PVCs are lost or damaged.Voters who have registered but haven’t collected their PVCs.

How to Register or Update:

Fresh registrations must be done in person at the designated ward-level INEC centers.Updates, transfers, and corrections can be initiated via INEC’s online portal, but must be finalized in person.

Registration Deadline:

The CVR ends Thursday, July 17, 2025.No new registrations will be accepted after that, in line with the legal requirement to close voter registration at least 90 days before the election.

Over 300 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines are already configured for use.Security agencies are on standby to ensure a peaceful and safe process.
