Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has explained the reason behind his absence at the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari, which took place on Tuesday in Daura, Katsina State.

Obi, who was noticeably absent at the ceremony, disclosed that he had intended to attend but was unable to secure a flight into Katsina due to airspace restrictions linked to the high-profile nature of the event.In his words:
“It was difficult coming here yesterday because there was no flight. Even if there was a flight, you couldn’t land at Katsina airport. It was all closed because there were a lot of dignitaries. Anyone who comes today or tomorrow is still part of the mourning.
