Tinubu Meets APC Governors Ahead of Crucial NEC Meeting

President Bola Tinubu met on Wednesday night with governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a strategic session believed to be linked to Thursday’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the ruling party.

Sources indicate that the meeting was aimed at enabling the President to formally communicate his stance on key party decisions, particularly the selection of a new National Chairman.

During the NEC session, the APC is expected to make a decision on replacing Abdullahi Ganduje, who resigned from the chairmanship last month. In the interim, Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, has been serving in an acting capacity.

While some political observers anticipate that the NEC will confirm Dalori’s role and possibly assign him a timeframe to conduct a national convention for electing a substantive chairman, others believe President Tinubu may push for the immediate appointment of a permanent replacement during the meeting.
