BBNaija: Lady Alleges Friend Was Disqualified Hours Before Show Over Rule Violation

A woman identified as Tamar Canada Roberts has claimed that her friend was disqualified from participating in the tenth edition of Big Brother Naija, themed ‘10 Over 10’, just hours before the show’s official launch.

Recall that the highly anticipated reality show premiered with a double launch on July 26 and 27, 2025, introducing 29 housemates.

In a Facebook post, Tamar revealed that her friend had successfully made it into the BBNaija Lockdown cast and was set to be unveiled as one of the male housemates.

However, he was reportedly dropped around 4 a.m. on the eve of the premiere.Narrating the incident, she said trouble began when someone allegedly created a fake social media account in his name. This prompted his cousin—designated to manage his media presence—to contact her for advice.

“Someone opened an account in his name. His cousin (the new handler) called me to find a way forward. I said let’s not spook this person; let’s quietly report the account. Hopefully, it’s just a parody account the person wants to use for traffic, which is common when someone joins the house,” Tamar wrote.

According to her, the situation took a turn when, on February 25, the cousin informed her that the housemate had personally posted about his upcoming participation—an act that directly violated BBNaija’s confidentiality rules.

“His cousin texted me saying he had posted on his page that he was going into the house, which is a violation,” Tamar disclosed.

While the show’s organizers have yet to comment on the claim, Tamar’s post has stirred conversations online about the strict rules surrounding Big Brother Naija’s selection process and the consequences of breaching confidentiality agreements.
