Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has opened up about her long-standing admiration for fellow actress Genevieve Nnaji, highlighting a moment from their past that left a lasting impact on her.
In a post shared via her Instagram page, Jegede posted a throwback video of a movie scene she shot alongside Genevieve back in 2007. She recounted how the veteran actress’s warmth and kindness on set made a deep impression on her.
Jegede revealed that immediately after wrapping up the shoot, she left for the airport to pursue further studies abroad—an academic journey that took her away from Nollywood for five years.
She also recalled almost missing her flight due to the rushed departure.“This matter long ooo,” she wrote. “Someone just sent me this clip.
In 2007, right from this movie set, I went straight to the airport and left Nollywood for five years to study. I even almost missed my flight. Honestly, this movie is why I’ve always adored Genevieve—she was incredibly kind, warm, and pleasant to me on set. If anyone remembers the title of this movie, please let me know because I honestly don’t recall.”

Despite knowing the iconic actress for over a decade, Nicole confessed she still finds it hard to stay composed around her.In a viral video, Nicole recounted an encounter at a café in Ikoyi where she unexpectedly saw Genevieve.
Although they exchanged familiar greetings, Nicole admitted she couldn’t contain her excitement.
She said, “It felt like all the air left the room, and time just froze. Without realizing it, I bowed and said, ‘My queen, I’m not worthy to be in your presence.’”
