A Nigerian soldier has voiced deep frustration over the government’s apparent neglect of military personnel, contrasting it with the lavish monetary rewards recently given to the Super Falcons.
In a video that has since gone viral, the visibly emotional soldier questioned the president’s priorities, lamenting the hardships and sacrifices endured by those on the frontlines with little recognition or support.
He mentioned how a soldier gives up so much serve the country, yet they’re unappreciated and rewarded appropriately.
His words in part …
“Una no see am? Person do work for three months, e no even reach a month, president dey sign N160 million for each person. All the players are 24 if I am not mistaken. And all the coach, they’re collecting N80 million. All the players president give each of them 3 bedroom flat. And a Nigerian soldier, the number one security of this country, money wey dey go pay from the very day e join army, till after 35 years when you retire, that is if you reach 35 years, e no reach the one wey them pay those girls wey do work of one month…House wey soldier dey sleep for barrack, even a senator dog no fit enter that room.”
