AS Roma have reportedly turned their attention to Chelsea winger Tyrique George as a possible replacement for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho, who recently rejected a move to the Italian club.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Roma have already made enquiries about the conditions of a deal for the 18-year-old forward. George, who has been attracting growing interest across Europe, is seen as a strong option for the left-wing role should Sancho continue to resist a switch to Italy.
The Chelsea starlet is also on the radar of Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, alongside several Premier League clubs who are monitoring his situation closely.
Meanwhile, Roma’s sporting director, Frederic Massara, confirmed that negotiations with Sancho have collapsed, citing the player’s lack of interest in a Serie A move.
“There are no conditions to proceed with this deal, especially as Sancho doesn’t have the motivation to join AS Roma,” Massara stated.
With Sancho out of the picture, George has now emerged as a priority target for the Giallorossi as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
