Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ), has declared, His Excellency, AbdulRaham AbdulRazaq, The Most Outstanding Integrity Governor of The Year, 2025. This was made known in a Press Statement made available to the Press during the weekend.
The Press Statement signed by the National President of the Association, Dr Charles Okhai, highlighted some of the reasons why the Governor deserves the prestigious Award.
His Excellency, Governor AbdulRaham AbdulRazaq is the 20th Executive Governor of Kwara State, and since his assumption of office, Kwara State has transformed tremendously to be one of the most developed and progressive states in the country today. According to Dr Charles Okhai, the National President of the Association, the nomination of His Excellency, is predicated on his very impressive track record of good governance as the Executive Governor of State since his assumption of office. Dr Okhai explained that since assuming office, Governor AbdulRaham AbdulRazaq has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the principles of Integrity, Honesty, Transparency, and Patriotism.These are some of the qualities that marked the governor out for the Award.
In the Press Statement, Dr Okhai described His Excellency as an exemplary leader and a shining example of excellent democratic leadership. The Press Statement further stated that as the Chairman of “Governor Forum” he brought a sense of Peace, Oneness, and unity into the Governor’s Forum, thereby breaking down the walls of political affiliations which is a proof of his high level leadership capacity .
The statement explained that, His Excellency, Governor AbdulRaham has consistently displayed exceptional character as a Leader, earning the respect and admiration of his fellow Governors, political colleagues, subordinates, political opponents, and the entire people of Nigeria.
Dr Okhai contended Governor AbdulRaham has demonstrated unwavering Honesty, unshakeable Transparency, and unrelenting Patriotism, and a deep commitment to the well-being and progress of Kwara State in particular and the Nigeria in general .
The Press Statement also stated that Governor AbdulRaham’s rare show of integrity has inspired a new generation of leaders and citizens in Kwara State, thereby promoting a culture of Honesty, Accountability, and Patriotism.
The formal Presentation of the Award is expected to hold soonest. The Award is highly Prestigious and coveted because of its national relevance and impact on good governance and excellent leadership. Dr Okhai explained that the process of nomination for the Award is very tasking and meticulous. ” It begins with the executive membership selection of six credible candidates across the nation. This exercise is followed with a meticulous
scrutiny by the National Executive Council of the Association. The candidates are then short listed to the top three , and thereafter, a further scrutiny of the candidates is carried out for the most deserving candidate to emerge as the award winner” Dr Okhai explained.
The Integrity Award was conceptualized by the Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ), with the sole aim of promoting the spirit of Integrity, as against corruption in the country. We strongly believe that no nation can achieve meaningful progress if the leaders are not mentally integrity conscious.This underscores why our focus is on the leaders across the board.” According to Dr Okhai, “His Excellency AbdulRaham AbdulRazaq is the Fifth Governor to win the Prestigious Award since its inception in 2013. A formal presentation of the Award will be well celebrated across the media soonest.”
