Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly joined the list of clubs interested in signing Manchester United’s young midfielder, Kobbie Mainoo, before the summer transfer window closes.
According to Gist9ja, Real Madrid are closely monitoring Mainoo’s situation at Old Trafford, where the 20-year-old has struggled for game time. He was an unused substitute in Manchester United’s opening two Premier League matches against Arsenal and Fulham.
Los Blancos are not the only La Liga side keeping an eye on him—Atletico Madrid are also believed to be interested in securing the England international’s services. Mainoo could consider leaving United in search of more regular playing opportunities.
Meanwhile, in another development, Real Madrid winger Rodrygo has told his representatives to help him secure a move away from the Santiago Bernabéu this summer.
According to The Athletic, the Brazilian forward instructed his agents, Pini Zahavi and Kia Joorabchian, to explore new opportunities. Rodrygo, who has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool, has endured limited minutes under manager Xabi Alonso this season and is yet to complete a full 90 minutes.
The 24-year-old was also left out of Brazil’s squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Chile, reportedly due to lack of full match fitness.
Rodrygo’s uncertain future and Madrid’s pursuit of Mainoo suggest that the Spanish club could be set for significant squad changes before the transfer window closes next week.
