2027 Elections: I’m Not Lobbying for Vice-Presidential Slot – Gov Bala Mohammed

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has dismissed claims that he is positioning himself for the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) vice-presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor made the clarification during an interview on Channels Television, where he addressed issues of zoning, party unity, and preparations for the polls.

“I am not withdrawing because I want to prepare myself for the vice presidency. If it is the consensus of our party leaders and the presidential candidate to choose me, I am ready. But if not, I will give my maximum support to whoever emerges,” Mohammed stated.

He also reacted to reports suggesting that the PDP was considering a joint ticket with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, as presidential candidate and himself as running mate. Mohammed, who also chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum, described the claim as unfounded.

“I and Seyi have never discussed the issue of pairing. What we have emphasized is taking over power by the grace of God so we can offer Nigerians good governance in 2027 and beyond,” he clarified.
