Court Orders DNA Test on Late Mohbad’s Son

The Ikorodu Magistrate Court has ordered a DNA test on Liam Aloba, the son of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

The ruling was delivered on Tuesday by Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga following an application filed by the singer’s father, Joseph Aloba, who sought legal confirmation of Liam’s paternity. Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, was listed as the respondent in the case.

In his filing, Joseph Aloba stressed the importance of settling the issue once and for all, noting:

“There remains uncertainty regarding the paternity of Master Liam Aloba and given the sensitivity of the matter, it is imperative that the paternity be conclusively settled.”

Ruling on the matter, the magistrate directed that two separate DNA tests be conducted at recognized hospitals — one in Nigeria and another outside the country.

The court further instructed that both parties, or their representatives, must be present during the collection of DNA samples.

The case was adjourned until November 11, 2025, for continuation of proceedings.
