The Armani Group announced his passing in a statement on Thursday, describing him as its “creator, founder, and tireless driving force.”
“With infinite sorrow, the Armani Group announces the passing of its creator, founder, and tireless driving force: Giorgio Armani,” the company wrote.
“He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Tireless, he worked until his final days, dedicating himself to the company, its collections, and the diverse and ever-evolving projects both existing and in progress.”
Armani, who launched his self-named label in 1975, transformed the global fashion industry with his signature sleek, minimalist, and sophisticated style. His creations went far beyond clothing, shaping trends in lifestyle, interiors, fragrances, and luxury accessories.
